Curriculum
The continuing education program with 60 ECTS credits can be completed within 2 semesters while working. The program consists of basic courses, specialist courses and the Master's thesis.
The first semester is dedicated to fundamentals of the data economy and its impact on law. During the onboarding week at the beautiful Göttweig Abbey close to Krems (Austria), the students will be introduced to the core concepts of the program and the detailed structure. The first semester offers 4 learning cycles, each with one to two weeks of preparatory remote learning followed by one week of on-campus lectures in Krems and one to two remote weeks for wrap-up and consolidation. At the end of each learning cycle, the students‘ knowledge is assessed through online exams.
The second semester is dedicated to the specialization. It provides 3 learning cycles, each with two to three weeks of preparatory remote work followed by one week of interactive on-campus lectures in Krems (Austria). During the preparation phase, students will work on individual or group projects. The results of these projects will be presented during courses held on-campus.
In the course of the first semester of the program, students learn about legal methodology and scientific writing and work on a possible master’s thesis topic. During the second semester, students develop their ideas into the final master’s thesis and defend their results in front of a committee of experts.
