Danube University Krems opens its virtual door and warmly invites music managers, musicians, composers, publishers, and producers to join an open lecture, free of charge, held by US attorney Judith Merians addressing the topics of IP, Copyright Law, and Music Publishing with focus on the US market.

The lecture will take place within the framework of our international Master of Arts program MUSIC MANAGEMENT.

Judith Merians

Judith Merians has been a lawyer and business executive in the entertainment industry for 30 years: As Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs at Regent Entertainment International, Merians oversaw the business negotiations for international distribution, co-productions and financing arrangements, and served as legal counsel to the company. She was also the Chief Operating Officer and co- owner of The Hollywood Experts Online. She has worked in various legal and business capacities including serving as Senior Vice President, Business and Legal affairs for the distribution division for Saban International/Fox Kids Worldwide, Assistant General Counsel for Warner Bros., Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs for the Completion Bond Company, Director of Business Affairs for Paramount Pictures Corporation, Director of Business and Legal Affairs for ABC Motion Pictures, and Program Attorney for the ABC Television Network. In addition to her career in the corporations of Hollywood, Ms. Merians has taught the business of the film industry for 12 years at the University of California Los Angeles, Extension Film and Television School. She has also taught at Danube University Krems, the Moscow Film School, The Screenwriters Guild of the Soviet Union, The Tokyo Film School, The American Film Institute and the Los Angeles Film School, and has been a lecturer for six years at the Business and Legal Conference of the Cannes Film Festival. In addition, Ms. Merians has written various articles on the entertainment industry which have been published in France, England, Italy and the United States. She has a Master of Arts degree and a Juris Doctorate degree.
