Description

This project is a standalone report on second-generation antidepressants that will incorporate the most relevant evidence on new drugs and conduct some synthesis of evidence with the previous review evidence. The original systematic review, published in 2004, was conducted for the Drug Effectiveness Review Project (DERP) by the RTI-UNC Evidence-based Practice Center (EPC) and the Oregon EPC. Gerald Gartlehner, MD, MPH, an associate director of the RTI-UNC EPC, was the lead author on the original systematic review and all updates published in 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2011. Because of Dr. Gartlehner’s expertise and continued involvement with this topic, he will lead this standalone report. The entire scope of work will be performed by Dr. Gartlehner and his colleagues in the Department for Evidence-based Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology at the Danube University, Krems, Austria.
