Reconceptualising European Power in an Era of Turmoil: Contestation, Relevance, Sustainability (RENPET)

The objective of the “RENPET: Reconceptualising European Power in an Era of Turmoil: contestation, relevance, sustainability” Jean Monnet Network is to deepen and diversify a global and interdisciplinary community of senior and junior scholars, policy-makers and civil society representatives debating the political, economic and societal role of the EU in international affairs. The Era of Turmoil refers both to contemporary (geo)political developments that call for a rethinking of what European power means (or should mean) and what it can and cannot accomplish, as well as the growing prominence of fake news, disinformation and public scepticism of the role of policy experts in the political sphere.
