Description

The project develops in four strands: First, the artistic development of young professional orchestra players in Europe. This axis is expected to contribute to our knowledge of the necessary education and skills that young professional musicians need to succeed in the profession. The second one is the functions of orchestras as cultural diplomacy actors and carriers of European values. This strand will explore the EUYO as vector of diplomacy and in what way it communicates European values. The third strand answers the question of how orchestras can serve as examples of promoting environmental and social values and in that way offer solutions to crises and contemporary issues European societies are facing. This strand evolves around questions of sustainability that relate not only to the climate crisis and the environment, but also to cultural and business sustainability. An additional direction is regional cultural policies and how can large cultural organisations work and affect regional frameworks.
