Description

Cochrane's systematic reviews are pivotal in informing the World Health Organization’s (WHO) guidelines for managing preterm infants, especially in respiratory interventions. Led by Cochrane Sweden and Cochrane Neonatal, these reviews contribute evidence that directly shapes recommendations, such as caffeine therapy to improve lung function and reduce mortality in preterm infants. WHO bases its guidelines on these reviews to ensure relevance and evidence-based care for vulnerable infants worldwide. In addition to global contributions, Cochrane Austria, affiliated with the University for Continuing Education Krems, provides key deliverables to support this initiative.
