In recent decades, legal issues in the field of medicine have gained enormously in importance. The progressive juridification of various medical fields and the increasing complexity of the relevant legal material have driven the emergence of a new specialist field, "medical law". This discipline deals with all legal regulations that directly or indirectly affect the practice of medicine. Constitutional law, administrative law, European law, civil law, criminal law, labor law, social law and legal ethics aspects of medical practice are dealt with in an interdisciplinary manner, transcending traditional specialist boundaries.
