The study program imparts fundamental knowledge of wound formation, prevention, healing, and common clinical conditions. Students learn how to conduct assessments and diagnostic procedures, document wounds, and apply various therapeutic options. Additionally, a key focus is placed on selecting appropriate wound care products and ensuring hygienic standards.
Other topics include educational aspects for advising patients and their relatives or caregivers, as well as the legal regulations governing wound care.

Completion of the program is accredited as continuing education pursuant to § 64 of the Health and Nursing Act.
