Description
The InnoMOB II project follows on from the “InnoMOB I - Innovative Mobility Concepts for Large-Volume Housing” project. In the previous project, tried and tested examples of alternative mobility solutions from Austria and Germany were examined and evaluated for their applicability in the rural areas of Lower Austria. Specifically, the basics of spatial planning, building and housing law for the establishment of sustainable mobility as well as the willingness of non-profit developers to implement such solutions were ascertained. Based on this, a catalog of mobility measures was created depending on regional and infrastructural conditions as well as recommendations for the relevant stakeholders - legislators, municipalities, housing associations and, last but not least, funding agencies - for the implementation of innovative mobility models. On the basis of these results, the follow-up research project “InnoMOB II” now intends to plan 5 pilot projects on selected housing projects in representative Lower Austrian municipalities, which are ideally suited to the comprehensive implementation of alternative mobility concepts. The concept development includes a specific elaboration and selection of suitable mobility measures as well as networking with potential operators of transport service providers. The work is carried out in close coordination with the developers, the municipalities and the state of Lower Austria. In addition to the creation of these specific mobility concepts, the aim is also to develop recommendations for the affected communities and to develop a catalog of criteria for "sustainable mobility" for implementation in the Lower Austrian housing subsidy.
