Health.Region.Waldviertel

The project consists of a series of work packages to be carried out by the Department of Economics and Health, which will allow a better understanding of the healthcare system in the Waldviertel region (i.e. the districts of Horn, Gmünd, Waidhofen and Zwettl). This will make it possible to estimate the effectiveness of interventions (often linked to the use of additional financial resources). To achieve this, the project is primarily concerned with investigating the underlying dynamics and system archetypes embedded in the healthcare system in its current configuration. It only makes sense to intervene in the health system if we have a solid understanding of its cause and effect relationships. Otherwise, there will be unexpected (and usually undesirable) consequences that will weaken, if not completely nullify, the effect of often expensive interventions.
