Scarce human and financial resources, together with environmental and climate change, demographic change and the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases, represent key challenges for healthcare systems. The evidence- and model-based analysis of the "patient healthcare system" at regional, national and international level is therefore of key importance and a research focus of the Department for Economy and Health.
In teaching, the department is specifically dedicated to training people from the health and social sector so that they can act more adeptly in the healthcare system, for example with improved management and leadership skills. This enables our students to contribute to a more sustainable use of resources, smoother processes, increased mutual appreciation and better patient care through process and structural changes.

„Our goal is to contribute to the improvement of health systems and the situation of the people in these systems.“
