Description

The project DJ Isotype addresses the question how Isotype can be applied to interactive information visualizations in the context of data journalism. Isotype is a promising approach to communicate statistics and open data to laypeople, however, basic questions on ist applicability remain tob e answered in this project, so that Isotype can unfold ist full potential. Prototypical visualization and intuitive, narrative interaction templates will ve developed and tested regarding their cognitive impact, usability, and user-experience. In addition, a prototypical web application will guide journalists through the semi-automatic transformation of data into Isotype-based visualizations.
