Due to the COVID 19 situation in spring 2020 the implementation of the regular application process was temporarily put on halt because the current state of affairs made it very unlikely that candidates would be ready to make commitments for the coming year. As the situation has not cleared up over the summer, the decision to use an alternative strategy for the first round of scholars and fellows was made in September 2020.
The scholars and fellows program will commence by offering “virtual visiting scholarships” that involve international experts to online teaching and scientific exchange with faculty over the spring term 2021. Instead of a prolonged stay, the first cohort of fellows and scholars will participate in several blocked virtual presence phases, each spanning several days.
