Excursion in one of the conservation zones of the Neusiedler See - Seewinkel National Park

Due to climate change, extreme events such as heavy rainfall, flooding, heat and longer periods of drought are increasing, which is also becoming more and more noticeable in the Lake Neusiedl region.
Under the expert guidance of a national park ranger, we will observe the changes in this unique cultural and natural area on site and discuss their effects and possible countermeasures.

This excursion is part of the EU-funded INACO project, which aims to improve the resilience of natural and cultural heritage sites. During the hike, we will introduce you to INACO and explain how this project can help mitigate the effects of climate change.

INACO

The project develops transnational strategies, integrated web-based solutions and risk management plans to improve the resilience of Central European regions to the impacts of climate change on cultural and natural heritage in river basins.
The aim is to support local authorities in implementing measures to protect cultural and natural heritage sites exposed to climate change risks such as floods, storms, forest fires and droughts.
