Donaulände | Guest Harbour, Tulln City Museum, Roman Tower
3430 Tulln on the Danube

On Sunday, 22 September 2024, the municipality of Tulln will once again host the popular Roman Festival with an exciting programme for the whole family.
The Danuvina Alacris will once again be anchored in Tulln's Guest Harbour and the Center for Cultural Property Protection will be on hand with an interactive information stand to provide exciting insights into the Roman ship, the ReConnecting Cruise 2023-2027 and new projects.

Visit the Roman patrol vessel "Danuvina Alacris", a faithful reconstruction of a late antique model, and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Roman rowers on the water.

The team from the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, who reconstructed the Danuvina Alacris as part of the Living Danube Limes project, will be on hand to answer questions and provide interesting insights.

Take to the oars yourself! Under expert guidance, you can try your hand at being a Roman rower and experience the feeling of gliding under your own steam across the Danube on a faithful replica of a Roman ship.

🔸 10:30 hrs
🔸 14:00 hrs

As part of the ReConnecting Cruise, the Danuvina Alacris is still available on request for individual group bookings (8-12 people) in Tulln until 9 October, before it leaves the Austrian section of the Danube for good and travels on towards Slovakia.
