Submission and review

  • Submission deadline: Individual Paper Proposals and Panel Proposals (four papers related to a common topic) must be submitted by March 15,2025. 
  • Submission Portal: All submissions are made via our submission portal. Submissions will be possible from January 2025.
  • Individual Paper Proposals should consist of a 500-word abstract, along with the name(s), affiliation(s), and E-mail adress(es) of the author(s). Paper proposals should also include a short (max. 50 words) bio, detailing career stage (e.g. PhD researcher, post-doc, etc.) and disciplinary background. If possible, the full paper can already be submitted together with the abstract.
  • Panel Proposals should comprise of a 250-word abstract outlining the theme of the panel, accompanied by four thematically consistent and interconnected 250-word paper abstracts. Panel proposers should nominate a chair and a discussant (the role of chair and discussant may coincide). Submissions should include the names, affiliations, E-mail adress(es) and short (50 words) bios of the chair(s), discussant(s) and author(s) of each paper.
  • Review Process: All submissions will undergo a single-blind peer review process. Authors will be notified of the review outcomes by May 15, 2025.
  • Submission deadline full papers: Full papers are expected to be submitted by September 15, 2025.
  • Presentation: Accepted papers will be presented at the conference, with each presentation allocated 15 minutes, followed by a discussion.

Young Economists Award

The Austrian Economic Association awards prizes for outstanding papers – to be presented at the conference – by NOeG members up to the age of 35. For joint papers, this age limit holds for all co-authors. The Young Economists Award is endowed with EUR 750. Please indicate your eligibility for the award on the submission portal.

Publication of Papers

After peer-review, accepted papers may be published in a special conference issue of Empirica: Journal of European Economics. In case you would like your paper to be considered for the special issue, please indicate this on the submission portal.
