In its February 2025 issue, the magazine "Die NIEDERÖSTERREICHERIN" reports on women in the army. It features Anna Kaiser, Head of the Center for Cultural Property Protection, in her role as a militia officer in the Austrian Armed Forces and commander of the AFDRU - Austrian Forces Disaster Relief Unit.

The AFDRU is the disaster relief unit of the Austrian Armed Forces that provides rapid assistance in the event of environmental and natural disasters worldwide. It is made up of volunteers from the active and militia ranks and is supported by civilian specialists as required. However, the protection of cultural property must not be neglected in the interview with editor-in-chief Lisa Staltner.

„The military also plays a major role in her civilian career, where she researches, among other things, why important cultural heritage sites - such as Melk Abbey or Göttweig Abbey in Lower Austria - need to be protected, and what advantages can be gained in military operations if this protection of cultural property is actually taken into account.“

The Center for Cultural Property Protection aims to establish effective management and security measures for the protection and preservation of cultural property. The objective is to equip various civil and military actors with the necessary skills to protect cultural property and heritage sites for the future.
