The partnership of 9 countries in the Danube Region covers the majority of countries that participated in the First World War and host heritage sites such as museums (AT, BG, CZ, HU, SL), battlefields with monuments and cemeteries (AT, BH, RO, SI, SK), monuments (AT, BG, BH, HU, SI) and prison camps (BG, BH, CZ, HU, RO).

Posoški razvojni center | Soča Valley Development Centre (PRC), Slovenia

PRC is a public institution established by three municipalities in Posoški (Bovec, Kobarid, Tolmin) to accelerate the development of the Soča Valley after the 1999 earthquake. Its main task is to promote development in the Goriška region, especially in the areas of human resources, environment and spatial planning, tourism and rural development, and the economy. The PRC is a link between public sector actors, NGOs, chambers, businesses and the community. It is integrated into a regional and national network of development agencies, supports the implementation of regional strategies and is able to disseminate project results and involve municipalities and other organisations.

Center for Cultural Property Protection – University for Continuing Education Krems (UWK), Austria

The University for Continuing Education Krems is a public university for academic continuing education with a research focus on current and future societal challenges. With its Center for Cultural Property Protection, it has special expertise and extensive experience in the protection of cultural heritage from (climate-related) natural disasters and in cost-effective precautionary measures for movable and immovable cultural property. The Centre takes a holistic approach, collaborating with high-level professors, institutions and educators in the field of risk management and cultural property protection, and drawing on a broad network of international stakeholders in the field of material cultural heritage.

Ustanova Fundacija Poti miru v Posočju | The Walk of Peace in the Soča Region Foundation (Foundation WOP), Slovenia

During the First World War, the Soča Valley was part of the Isonzo Front between Italy and the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Architectural heritage (trenches, fortifications, chapels, monuments, military cemeteries) of national and international interest has been preserved. For the protection and preservation of the heritage the Foundation was established in 2000. It is financed by the Slovenian government, municipalities and sponsors. The Foundation's tasks include study and research, restoration and presentation of the heritage of the First World War, professional and promotional publications, exhibitions, development of historical tourism and cooperation with many different organisations dealing with the heritage of the First World War worldwide. Guides with extensive knowledge of World War I are on hand. In 2015, in cooperation with Slovenian and Italian partner organisations, the 240 km Walk of Peace from the Alps to the Adriatic Sea along the entire Isonzo Front as part of the Slovenia-Italy Interreg project. It is a memorial to all those who suffered in the First World War and a warning against wars that must never be repeated.

Spolecnost Rozmberk o.p.s. | Rozmberk Society (Rozmberk), Czech Repulic

Rozmberk is a regional development and heritage conservation NGO. The association runs a museum about local heritage and emigration to the USA in the 19th century, as well as a historic but functioning wrought. Research has been carried out into the history of crafts, the industrial heritage of the region and its importance to the region, and genealogy. Rozemberk has strong expertise in the development of soft tourism (eco-museum concept).

VEDA is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation established in 1997 under the joint programme of the City of Varna and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to promote regional economic development. It has competencies and experience in project management of more than 30 national and multinational EU-funded projects focusing on tourism development, youth development, innovation, SMEs and young entrepreneurs, social innovation, eco-innovation, etc. VEDA's thematic expertise includes the organisation of various national and international events as well as the development of national reports, communication plans, strategy papers and action plans for policy makers.

Регионален исторически музей – Добрич | Regional Museum of History – Dobrich (RIM Dobrich), Bulgaria

The RIM Dobrich, founded in 1953, is a cultural and educational institution that collects, researches and disseminates the cultural heritage of the Dobrich region. The collections of the museum include more than 180,000 objects. The museum has several departments specialising in different periods, as well as nature and literature departments, a research group, a photographic laboratory, laboratories for the restoration and conservation of archaeological artefacts and a taxidermy laboratory. The work of the museum has led to the discovery of numerous artefacts, unique architecture, cult and funerary buildings and cemeteries from different periods. Numerous studies have been carried out in the fields of ethnography, folklore, religion, craftsmanship, literature and the region's natural heritage. The museum organises events for visitors to learn about the complex history, nature, ecology and culture of the Dobrudzha region.

The aim of the social cooperative is to explore unconventional forms of creative industries and cultural urban development in the sense of sustainable development. This is based on the creation and efficient management of community cultural spaces, the production of unique self-designed products and socio-cultural activities. It has expertise in the organisation of events for the younger generation using audiovisual techniques  and in the management of online contacts between pupils and students.

Veszprém Megyei Jogú Város Önkormányzata | Municipality of Town Veszprém (VMJV), Hungary

In Hungary, municipalities are responsible for the protection of monuments and historical sites on their territory. The VMJV independently regulates public affairs of local interest in the city of Veszprém. Its tasks include excavations, registration, maintenance and public access.
