The academic year

The academic year is divided into a winter and summer semester. There are no course-free periods in the traditional sense at the University for Continuing Education Krems, as the continuing education (study) programs are generally designed to be studied alongside work commitments and take place in module blocks. You can find the exact dates for the respective continuing education (study) programs on the individual study pages.

 

Winter semester 2024

Beginning of the semester 1 October 2024
Start of the general admission period 1 July 2024

Summer semester 2025

Beginning of the semester 1 March 2025

Continuing your studies

For the further course of studies, a notice is required from the 2nd semester onwards. Within the duration of studies stipulated in the curriculum, this takes place by payment of the continuing education tuition fee. Please see your invoice for terms of payment.

If you do not complete your studies within the planned duration of studies according to the curriculum (based on the part-time version), you will receive a request for payment of the continuing education tuition fee from the Service Center for Students each subsequent semester at the beginning of the continuation registration period, published in the Bulletin No. 68 of 25 October 2024. This message will be sent to your UWK e-mail address (vorname.nachname@edu.donau-uni.ac.at).

The minimum administrative fee of € 50.00 is set for persons in need and for students with a disability of at least 50 % according to federal regulations. The reduction to the charges must be approved by the head of the department after submission of proof of social need or a degree of disability. The application form for a reduction of the charges if the duration of studies according to the curriculum is exceeded can be downloaded below on this page.

You will find your current payment information in your UWKonline account under the menu item "Registration Status and Participation Fee". By payment, you register continuation of your studies for the next semester.

In the case of multiple studies, it is imperative to quote the relevant study code to ensure correct allocation of the payment.

Once your payment has been booked, the status for this semester will change to "registered" in your student account (UWKonline). In the "Enrolment documents" section, you will then be able to access the record of studies, confirmation of registration and confirmation of academic semesters. The student ticket for your student ID card will be sent to you by post.

Please note that continuation of your studies will only be possible after timely payment of the full amount. Unfortunately, payments that are not made in a timely manner or in full as prescribed cannot be considered – you will lose your admission to study!

If you successfully complete your studies by the end of the continuation registration period, a continuation registration (payment) for the following semester is not required!

Students who have paid the Students' Union fee at another Austrian university can request a refund from the Students' Union.
