Description

Gram-negative bacterial endotoxin (LPS), also termed endotoxins, in the bloodstream is linked to the pathogenesis of numerous diseases. A reliable clinical method for detecting endotoxins in human blood has been sought for a long time. Our goal is to create a highly sensitive endotoxin assay called EndoBlood using the Metal Enhanced Fluorescence (MEF-FIA) technique provided by our project partner FIANOSTICS GmbH. The combination of university research, which provides fundamental knowledge in the field of endotoxin detection, and FIANOSTICS' industrially advanced FluoBolt technology in the field of fluorescence-based diagnostics, will enable the development of this highly sensitive EndoBlood assay.
