Description

The study on the Austrian school health system is divided into two parts. In the first part of the study, a status quo analysis of the school health system in Austria and in particular the school doctor service is planned. The analysis of the current state will include the existing evidence, the legal basis, an economic evaluation, and an assessment of the school health system and the development of possible approaches by relevant stakeholders, as well as an overview of school health systems in countries comparable to Austria. In the second part of the study, strategies for a new profile of the school health system in Austria will be developed in a participatory process. The possibility of central data collection as a basis for health-related decisions and as a basis for health promotion in schools, but also for health policy decisions, is also to be included in the strategy.
