Was bleibt, ist Raum
Ein Tag für Adolf Krischanitz zum 80. Geburtstag: Vorträge, Rundgänge, Ausstellung, Film & Gespräch
We invite participants to explore discourses, practices, ethics, and politics of care in contexts of collecting, preserving, restoring, curating, interpreting, and managing or organizing, by asking: Who cares for objects, materials, data, and their histories – also in view of the social mission and responsibility of heritage institutions? How are decisions made about what is preserved, restored, or allowed to decay?
The lecture “Letters, Beer and Orders,” presented within the Interreg project “Roman Trails,” offered a vivid and unexpectedly revealing glimpse into the often‑hidden everyday worlds of Roman soldiers.
Networking for the Roman Heritage of the Weinviertel: As part of the Interreg project Roman Trails, stakeholders from Weinviertel municipalities, museums and the tourism sector gathered at the Museum Stillfried to strengthen regional connections and explore new, experience‑oriented approaches to heritage interpretation.
The current issue of "Römisches Österreich" brings together contributions from the Center for Cultural Property Protection, along with a curated selection of additional articles that open up diverse perspectives on the Roman heritage of the Danube region and its ongoing research.
Call for Contributions: 15 April 2026
Call for Papers: Submit your paper by 5 February for the session “Transforming Data into Experience: Interdisciplinary Strategies for Sustainable Archaeological Tourism” at the EAA Annual Meeting 2026 in Athens.
