The more the EU seems to be in a deep institutional crisis and ever less capable to even decide the most basic things (e.g. head of the commission), the more the desire to live in a different Europe increases. How do we go over Derrida’s paradigm c’est impossible mais nécessaire (‘it is impossible but necessary’) with respect to European democracy? Are we talking about more than an empty significant? In other words, do we know what we talk about when we say we talk about Europe?
