MAD 22 | EMERGENT TECHNOLOGIES IN TIMES OF CRISIS
In the 4th edition of the Media Arts and Design Conference, we would like to look at future technologies (decentralised networks, artificial intelligence, virtual worlds - metaverse, virtual and augmented reality, to name but a few) and their impact on the field of media arts and design in particular, but also on social, political and economic aspects in general. We also address the question of how communication and interaction in both private and professional life has changed in recent years.
This year's conference is hosted by Alexander Pfeiffer, Natalie Denk and Michaela Wawra (University for Continuing Education Krems); Scot Osterweil (The MIT Education Arcade); Stephen Bezzina , Alexiei Dingli (University of Malta), Michael Wagner, Nick Jushchyshyn (Drexel University), Simone Kriglstein (Masaryk University & AIT Austrian Institute of Technology), Klaus Neundlinger (Institute CE) and André Thomas (Texas A & M University).
This year's speakers include Klaus Neundlinger from Austria (How has our work culture changed?), Klaus Conrad from Malta (Why Covid has opened our eyes to change the culture of education), Hana Pokojná from the Czech Republic (How the Corona crisis has improved education and training in the bio-medical sector) and one of our keynote speakers Kim Harris & Ashley Lytle from the USA. They will talk about "From the Digital Divide to Digital Equity – Redesigning how we think about aging and technology in the wake of Covid 19".
